Raphaël NéronCA/QC

Composer and digital/sound artist Raphaël Néron studied electroacoustic composition at the Université de Montréal. His approach to music centres on sound narratives and on interdisciplinary crossovers in electroacoustics. Through his sound and video projects, installations, and performances, he explores the relationships between music and various other domains including film, literature, graphic novels, theatre, and videogames. The notion of spaces, sound and visual, real or suggested, intimate or shared, is at the heart of the aesthetic language of his creations.
His works have been exhibited nationally and internationally (Chile, England, Estonia, France, Italy, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, US, etc.). Over the years, he has been a member of the Sound Immersion Research Group and director of the DAÏMÔN Media Art Center, and he currently coordinates a research project on music technologies at the Université de Montréal.
