Jamira Estrada is a Swiss-Mexican DJ, musician and performance artist based in Zurich, Switzerland, whose work emerges from a foundation in electroacoustic composition. Her debut album "HUM" (2024, czarnagora) evolves around drone, noise and electroacoustic music, forging a complex and intimate narrative in which the physicality of the instrument becomes tangible, grounding ethereal voices in a raw, tactile presence.

Rooted in contemporary music practice, Estrada's compositional approach is characterized by an intimate and direct relationship to sound, resulting in raw acts of storytelling that delicately navigate between power and vulnerability. Recorded primarily on the Goll organ at Zurich University of the Arts, "HUM" delves into the spectral exploration of various timbres, humming into rich, multi-layered textures. Her work transforms the organ from its traditional liturgical context into a vessel for experimental expression, where poetic gestures emerge through the resonance of the pipes, the beating tones and the undefined spectra.

Her live performances blur the boundaries between composition and improvisation, creating immersive soundscapes that move between alienation and solace. As both artist and curator, Estrada is an active collaborator within Switzerland's experimental music scene, being part of Mikro Zurich, Cuadro22 and Czarnagora in Switzerland.

Her work spans international tours across Asia, Europe and Latinamerica, with performances at renowned festivals including CTM Festival, Zhao Dai Festival, Festival de la Cité and Montreux Jazz Festival, as well as at legendary venues like OHM in Berlin, OIL in Shenzhen, Garage Noord in Amsterdam, Yuyu Cineclub in Mexico City, Final in Taipei, and Boiler Room sessions.
