Since its landing in Argentina in 2017, MUTEK AR has established itself as a major event for fans of electronic music and digital art. The festival has played a crucial role in the discovery and promotion of visionary artists who have defined contemporary soundscapes and cultural landscapes. Since then, it has established itself as the annual celebration for innovation, cutting-edge music and digital arts.
Buenos Aires welcomes back MUTEK.AR in an expanded and enriched version. The vibrant energy of this international festival will unfold in several of the city's most prominent contemporary cultural venues. Audiences will be able to enjoy a programme of excellence that intersperses A/V shows, multi-sensory experiences, interactive and immersive environments and installations, and panels and talks that will invite reflection on the impact of technology in the present in order to imagine possible futures. There will also be gastronomic proposals to engage all the senses and much more.
This edition of MUTEK.AR is characterised by its exploration of new technologies, including artificial intelligence, which opens new frontiers in digital creativity, establishing paradigms in an evolutionary process. It is a maximised version that definitely takes up the spirit and volume of the 2017/19 editions, with the inclusion of more active locations. In addition to the famous BA Planetarium, the classic touch of the Teatro Alvear, part of the Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires, and the brand new CAI (Centro Audiovisual Inmersivo), a 400 m2 hall a few blocks away from Artlab, the festival's reference location, and Deseo, with its industrial style, will be the night-time venue for the dance section. The participation of important international artists and a range of avant-garde artistic experiences guarantee an unforgettable celebration of digital creativity and electronic music.
