Cristián García Laborde, better known as Koiwa, is a Buenos Aires-based musician, producer, and sound artist. He is the co-founder and former drummer and synthesizer player of Lujo Asiático. Since 2016, he has focused primarily on his solo project, which took its name during a trip to Japan.

In January 2026, he launched UWU Sessions, a platform dedicated to live-recorded audiovisual sessions.

A prolific artist, Koiwa has released numerous singles and albums in recent years while performing extensively both as a solo act and in collaboration with artists including Isabel del Bosco, Selene Erbes, Ernesto Romeo, Lucas Romeo, Poltamento, Nicolás Aimo, SKSSS, Disonar, Le Code, Sego, Chasys, Nesoika, and Bash.

His recent releases include Strahlantrieb, Avenia, NODO, Dikarya, Peña, and Live at MACBA (Museum of Contemporary Art of Buenos Aires), recorded during a live sonic activation for the exhibition Invisible Mountains (Non-Specific Organs). Post Ambient, released on Ariel Schlichter's Puddle Label, featured five remixes by Eric Olsen, Catu Hardoy, maeri, Pablo Reche, and Matt Cianfo. Dikarya, a collaboration with Nicolás Aimo, was released on cassette by the Japanese label Ume Records, while Avenia, created with Isabel del Bosco, was also issued on cassette by Puddle Label. Unexpected, a full-length collaboration with SKSSS, was released by The Journey You Never Had and Puddle Label.

In 2024, Koiwa was invited to play drums for Billy Bao alongside Mattin, Alan Courtis, and Pablo Reche at Primavera Noise in Buenos Aires. He also spent a period as the drummer in Haien's live band.
